Files are how work stays grounded in your real systems rather than in vague prompting. By giving a Pal real documents, spreadsheets, and reference material, the platform reasons over evidence you control. This page explains the difference between temporary thread evidence, deeper file analysis, and permanent Knowledge Base material so you can use the right layer for the job.
Use this when the file matters for one thread or one decision.
Use this when the job needs heavy comparison, extraction, or calculation across files.
Use this for durable reference material a Pal should carry into many conversations.
Share documents, spreadsheets, images, and more directly in conversation when they matter to the current thread. This is one of the fastest ways to ground a response in real evidence rather than a summary.
Attach files when the thread needs evidence: a report to summarise, a brief to rewrite, a contract to inspect, a spreadsheet to interpret. Do not attach files by habit. The best context is relevant context, not just more context.
Start a persistent analysis session when the work needs more than a quick read. This is for comparison, extraction, calculation, charting, and multi-file reasoning.
Use analysis sessions for jobs that deserve a real working surface: reviewing several spreadsheets together, comparing proposals, extracting patterns, or producing charts and structured findings. This is the heavier evidence workflow, so it consumes Credits.
Upload reference documents that a Pal should carry into many conversations. Product specs, brand guidelines, playbooks, and process documents belong here when they are durable context rather than one-off evidence.
Use the Knowledge Base for stable reference material. If a file is only relevant to one piece of work, attach it to the thread instead. If the file defines how a Pal should operate repeatedly, it belongs in the Knowledge Base.
Download or delete files from a Pal's Knowledge Base. Good permanent context needs maintenance, otherwise a Pal starts grounding itself in old or conflicting material.
Review the Knowledge Base periodically and remove anything outdated, duplicated, or contradictory. Better evidence beats more evidence. Clean source material improves the quality of future work.
Quickly re-attach recently used files without searching. Your most recent uploads are always a click away.
The file picker shows a "Recent" section at the top, listing files you have recently uploaded across any conversation. Click to re-attach without navigating your file system.

Three key trends stand out from the Q1 data: revenue grew 12% quarter-over-quarter, customer retention improved to 94%, and...Files are evidence, so they are treated accordingly. Documents you attach or store in a Knowledge Base stay scoped to where you put them, remain under your control to review or remove, and their use sits within the platform's audit trail. Grounding work in your real systems should never mean losing sight of where a document came from or how it was used.
